A Note on Golden Ring Middle School

Closed 2024
Golden Ring Middle School — A Neighborhood Institution

Golden Ring Middle School closed in 2024 when Nottingham Middle opened, but the building on Kenwood Avenue has been part of this community for nearly a century. Erected in 1931 as the original Kenwood High School, it became Golden Ring Junior High in 1956 and Golden Ring Middle School in 1984. Generations of Rosedale families passed through its doors.

The building’s history is as much a part of the neighborhood’s story as the creek itself.
